My 2017 New Years Resolutions

Let me begin this post by saying...

HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!!

I hope you all had the most fabulous Christmas and are looking forward to whatever 2017 has in store for you. Here are my New Years Resolutions, which I may or may not stick to but I am going to try my hardest! Now I know I did a post called '2017 goals', but this is different, these are things I am going to work towards rather than things I hope will happen.

Be More Consistent With Posting
Last year was difficult for me to remain consistent when it came to blogging due to A-Level exams and going travelling for a month in Summer etc, but this year I definitely plan on making more of an effort to post at least once a week. Yes I know I failed at Blogmas, but it got to the point where I was just posting because I felt I had to not because I wanted to exactly. I didn't want my quality of content to suffer therefore I thought I'd give myself a break and then come back fresher and better than ever in 2017. I am really going to make my blog more of a priority this year, I'm even working on a brand new blog design which I am very excited about!

Be More Self-Confident With Myself
I am insecure about myself and I am more than happy to admit that, it isn't something I feel ashamed about as I know so many other people feel the same way about themselves. I already go to the gym often however I want to really up my game this year to achieve a body I can't not be confident in. I also want to clear up my acne, which is slowly improving, so that I can go into town with no makeup and not feel like everyone is looking at me like 'she looks rough' even though they probably aren't. Finally I want to feel more confident with who I am and proud of the person that I have become and what I have achieved.

Leave The Toxic People In 2016
I met countless amounts of toxic people in 2016. These people made me feel horrible about myself, they made me feel worthless and used me for their own selfish gain. Once they had squeezed out everything they could get from me, they just acted as if I didn't mean anything to them. I am done with people like this and in 2017 I will only choose to surround myself with those who actually care about me and are honest and genuine. I'd much rather have 3 or 4 people I can genuinely trust and confide in than hundreds of people who barely know my last name. I once had someone tell me that in life there are two kinds of people, there are 'radiators' and there are 'drainers'. The 'radiators' are people who keep you warm and are there for you when you need them, they radiate happiness into your life. The 'drainers' on the other hand drain all of what they can get from you until you are run dry and they give nothing back.

Get a Top Apprenticeship
What I want most out of 2017 is that I want to find 'my way in the world' (holla Nina Nesbitt). Now is probably a good time to admit that I dropped out of Uni but that's a whole other blog post which I'm not ready to talk about just yet. Long story short, it just wasn't what I wanted to do for the next 4 years of my life. Before I went to Uni I was 'umming' and 'ahhing' over either going to uni or going down the apprenticeship degree route after being offered two with some very reputable and well paid companies. But I decided to go to uni instead. I am now pursuing an apprenticeship opportunity again and have one in the works which I am very excited about and hope that I get!

What are your new years resolutions? I'd love to know! Either post them in the comments below or link me your own 2017 resolutions posts!

Thank you so much for reading and I wish you all the best in the New Year!

  1. Fab post & good luck! Can't believe that about all the toxic people! As one of my resolutions I'm aiming towards a healthy body, healthy mind and to stop caring as much about what other think :)

  2. Lovely post, hopefully I can stick to my resolutions. Which aren't quite up to the same standard as yours, but I'm working on them!

  3. I think that letting go of toxic people is a perfect resolution. Toxic people are one of the top reasons why people have a hard time accomplishing what they desire. I think that it why is one of my goals for this year too!
