Get Your Nude On!

Hello!

OK, so recently I have become obsessed with nude makeup. As a result, I have purchased some recently that I have fallen in love with and I would like to share them with you.

First up, a mini Max Factor Haul!
Recently I haven't been the happiest of people so decided to treat myself to some retail therapy. Within my purchases included these three Max Factor products which I picked up from my local Boots under the 3 for 2 offer the brand have.

The first thing I picked up was the Max Factor Colour Elixir Lipstick:

About 2 months ago I picked up my first colour elixir lipstick in the colour 'Rosewood'. Although the colour is of a nude tone, it wasn't as dark as what I was seeking. So when I felt like it was the time to purchase some new makeup a couple months later, I knew where I would begin looking. The Max Factor stand of course in search for a darker nude tone lipstick that wouldn't break the bank.
Before I bought my initial 'Rosewood' lipstick, I had seen many youtubers use the colour elixir lipsticks as dupes for high-end ones, and boy were they right! These lipsticks are wonderful, I can't speak for them all but I would assume they are all similar to each other. They give a good, build-able coverage that lasts just as long as my high-end lipsticks, the colour selection is quite large as well and offers a variety of nudes, pinks and reds and to top it all off the lipstick smells pretty nice too!
So after loving 'Rosewood' but wanting a darker tone of it, I decided to purchase 'Sunbronze'. Not only do I love the name but the colour it gives as well, It is very flattering however isn't 'too much' as some people might say. In the picture I have taken it looks a lot more pink than it is, it is more of a dark nude with a slight pink infused within it.
This product only seems to have one flaw to me, I have found that it dries out my lips slightly even when I use lip balm before application. However, it does not dry them out so much so that I don't want to use it! I have found this with many drugstore lipsticks so perhaps it's just my lips being difficult and wanting me to spend more money!

I then teamed my lipstick with the Max Factor Colour Elixir Lip Liner:

I decided to get this product as lately I have been craving more definition to my lips. I don't have very big lips at all and therefore it is nice to have the opportunity there if I want to give the illusion that I have bigger lips.
I got the lip liner in the colour 'Brown 'N' Nude' which is perfect as it works well with both 'Sunbronze' and 'Rosewood'. I really like this liner as it is nice and soft but not crumbly if that makes sense. Previously, I have found some colouring pencils to give the same result as certain lip liners.
I can't fault this lipliner really as it is just what I wanted and matches the lipsticks perfectly.

I took a few shots to show you what the liner and lipstick look like together in stages of application.

To use the 3 for 2 offer Max factor have I then chose to add a nude colour nail polish:

I've never used a Max Factor nail polish before but when I saw this nude-pink shade I thought it was time to give it a try. I picked up the colour 'Candy Rose' from the 'Glossfinity' collection. I really like this colour as it's a slightly pinky and therefore is a bit more interesting than a simple nude colour. The colour is sophisticated and pretty which is just what I like with my nail polishes.
However, the whole 'glossy nails for up to 7 days' I read as a lie. In the same day that I applied the polish, it came away from some of my nails and chunks chipped off. I had even applied a high quality top coat and still it chipped even though I wasn't doing any kind of hard work or labour. This polish's durability is disappointing to say the least and i'm not much of a fan of the applicator either. It is quite thin and not great at applying the product evenly, instead it seems to apply either huge drops of the product or hardly anything at all.
Overall I love the colour, however, I wouldn't rebuy it because of the durability issue.

Finally, I decided to treat myself to something I have wanted for ages, Velvet Teddy by Mac.

I have been wanting this lipstick for almost 6 months now. It is hard to justify £15 for a lipstick however this one is totally worth it. I am familiar with Mac lipsticks being very high quality and beautiful since having owned a few, however, 'Velvet Teddy' from the matte collection is my new favourite. I love this colour so much, I think i'm obsessed. Everything about this lipstick appeals to me, the colour, the durability, the matte-look, even the smell!
If you are pondering about purchasing this lipstick just go and do it, I promise you won't regret it! 'Velvet Teddy' is the most beautiful nude colour that isn't too brown either, it can be worn up or down. This lipstick can easily make a casual daytime look become very pretty and sophisticated without trying too hard, just the same as it can be worn out in the evening if you want to wear a lipstick that doesn't lure people away from other areas. For example if you want to do an killer eye makeup look but don't want to distract from it with a bright pink lipstick, this colour would be perfect.
When I first tried this lipstick I was wary that it might dry out my lips since it is designed to have a 'mattifying' effect, I literally had nothing to worry about, the lipstick feels moisturising and creamy almost as it glides along the lips.
I have no faults for this lipstick, LOVE LOVE LOVE IT.

Thanks so much for reading, let me know what you think, especially if you have tried any of the products yourself!
